We are expanding the ET Engineteam range with another new product line. You can now find complete AdBlue tanks for diesel vehicles equipped with SCR systems in our range.
The first wave includes 17 ET Engineteam AdBlue tanks, TA0001 to TA0017. They cover a wide range of popular Citroën, Peugeot, Opel, DS and Toyota vehicles with 1.5 BlueHDi, 1.6 BlueHDi and 2.0 BlueHDi engines.
And this is just the beginning – we will gradually expand our AdBlue tank range with additional applications.
🔧 The AdBlue tank – an important part of the SCR system
The AdBlue tank is more than just a fluid reservoir. It is part of the SCR (Selective Catalytic Reduction) system, which helps reduce nitrogen oxide (NOx) emissions in modern diesel engines.
AdBlue is pumped from the tank to the dosing system and injected into the exhaust system in a precisely controlled quantity. A chemical reaction then takes place in the SCR catalytic converter, converting nitrogen oxides primarily into nitrogen and water.
⚙️ How does the AdBlue system work?
The operating principle can be simplified into several steps:
- AdBlue is stored in a separate tank in the vehicle.
- A pump delivers the fluid to the dosing system.
- A precisely controlled quantity of AdBlue is injected into the exhaust system.
- In the SCR catalytic converter, it reacts with nitrogen oxides (NOx).
- The reaction primarily produces nitrogen and water, thereby reducing NOx emissions.
- Proper operation of the AdBlue tank and its components is therefore essential for the correct functioning of the entire SCR system.
