The short block represents a practical solution in cases of extensive mechanical engine damage where a complete engine replacement is not required. Compared to replacing the entire engine assembly, it allows for a more cost-effective repair while retaining original components such as the cylinder head and engine accessories. At the same time, it ensures a faster repair process with minimal vehicle downtime.
🔍 Technical note regarding engine block design
Engines manufactured up to 2014 used a block version with drilled holes for installing an oil baffle (separator) in the oil pan, designed to limit oil splash. Newer versions of the engine block no longer include these holes, and the oil baffle is therefore not installed.
The part is suitable for Ford B-Max, Fiesta, C-Max, Focus, EcoSport, Grand C-Max, Transit Courier and Tourneo Connect vehicles equipped with 1.0 EcoBoost petrol engines with engine codes M1DA, N1JC, M1JJ, M2DC, SFCA, SFCC, SFCD, SFJA, SFJB.
