The 1.0 EcoBoost engine is part of Ford's successful engine line-up. Debuting in 2012, this engine offers a combination of high performance and efficiency. During the development of the engine, innovations and modifications were made to improve the engine's properties and performance.
One notable element of these modifications is the appearance of two different types of pistons. As a result, different piston designs are used in the first and second generation engines. These changes in piston design have resulted in improvements in efficiency, reliability and emission production, which would improve the overall engine quality and performance.
The described difference between the pistons is obvious at a glance. While the first generation piston has a pronounced protrusion at the top, the second generation piston has a flat top surface.
The 1.0 EcoBoost engine is used in many Ford models, including Ford B-Max, C-Max, Fiesta, Grand C-Max, Mondeo, Transit Courier and others. In addition, various versions of this engine are produced, including M1CA, M1CB, M1DA, M1JC, M2GB, P4JA, P4JB, SFDA, SFJA, SFJD and others.
