Pistons TSI (resp. TSFI) are very popular; the number of engines using these piston all over the world is astonishing. Thanks to the higher pressure on downsizing in past years (lowering the engine capacity while keeping the engine power to minimize the emission numbers) the TSI pistons became parts of many engines. These forced aspiration engines with straight fuel pressure injection were installed in many different volume and construction versions to the cars in the first generation (EA111) since the year 2005, and in the second generation after the year 2012 (EA211, EA888).
Advantages of TSI engines are lower weight, minimized fuel consumption and small emission production. Kolbenschmidt as a producer of original parts was or still is supplying some of these piston into original equipment, which means that some of these pistons are identical with original equipment parts used in brand new cars.
Installation kits for pistons and piston rings
For all pistons and piston rings there is a possibility to obtain the right kit of parts and tools with everything for the right mounting. Tools are available individually as well – for cars and trucks, or as a set which contains everything needed in the case package:
1. Feeler gauge 50009824 for measuring the space between the piston rings and the groove.
2. Pliers for mounting the piston rings 50009815 for cars, and 50009829 for trucks.
3. Mounting tool for piston installation 120000416353 for cars and 120000416490 for trucks.
4. Complete service tool kit 120000116900 – contains all mounting tools needed for pistons and piston rings installation.
