New items in our range - timing chain kits RS0102 and RS0103. These kits are designed for 1.4 TSI engines. Specific engine types are listed for each set.
Originally, components corresponding to ET Engineteam kit RS0049, which is available in several versions - either as a standalone kit, or including a crankshaft gear for the oil pump drive, were installed in most 1.4 engines.
Over the years, the car manufacturer has made modifications to the components of kits for CAXA and CAXC (and other) engines. They were then also installed in new vehicles. The components are altered and there's a different number of teeth on the crankshaft gear.
When replacing the timing components, always find a suitable kit using the chassis number. At the same time, we recommend checking which kit is installed in the car. Our experience has shown that repair kits 03C198229B and 03C198229C are often used even in engines, where, according to the chassis number, components of the RS0049 kit are used. The use of these kits is possible only if all components are replaced. Partial replacement is not possible.
The RS0049 kit is supplied without a crankshaft gear. This gear is part of the oil pump drive timing chain kit. Relevant sets for the oil pump drive are RS0047 (with 18/18 teeth gear), RS0048 (with 18/18 teeth gear) and RS0051 (with 23/18 teeth gear).
The kit RS0102 already includes a 23/19 teeth gear and the kit RS0103 includes a 19/18 teeth gear.
